Artist Bio
Jerry Allison 1906 -

Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania and raised in Harlansburg, Jerry Allison became an employee of the Pennsylvania Power Company before he left for New York at age 20, to study art.  He studied at the Woodstock Summer School of the Art Students League with historical illustrator Frank Riley, among others.

Allison’s work is noted for it’s realism. He started out illustrating covers for paperback books, but then created historical paintings which appeared in calendars by the Esso Corporation.  He also created illustrations for Reader's Digest, Bell Laboratories and General Electric.

He worked on campaigns for NBC, 20th Century Fox, MGM and United Artists. In addition, Allison created cover illustration for Pocket Books.
